Hello everyone! Let’s start this post with the ultimate “free” stuff. The stuff that involves you and your senses and it may be only you that will see the great value and excitement in that particular art. The most “amazing” free stuff for me is the world around us. How amazing are the rolling hills, the beauty of each flower, the blue in the sky, and the strength of the towering buildings. Okay, before I go any further, I know what you may be thinking, “really?!!!” I did not always think of this stuff as being beautiful but, to be honest, just boring. I have grown. I remember a high school friend who loved nature and everything about it. I thought she was “nuts.” She was a wise person who realized early in life how calming, stimulating, and powerful this “free” stuff is. We all have it at the touch of our fingers without having to search and possess it. She was able to capture this at a much earlier age than me. We can’t forget the smell of homemade cookies, the ocean breeze, and even the value of a conversation. I know as a Grandma one of the most beautiful things for me to hear is a giggly baby and a two-year-old that comes running up to me and says, “Grandma ,Grandma, I love my Grandma.” I believe that is the ultimate gift. I didn’t even have to give her anything, but my love. I have lots of that to give away. Life at these moments is the most powerful form of art. Could this be frugal living at its finest? Today I’m focusing on seeing the beauty of the day. Reaching out and touching a soft fuzzy teddy bear, taking the moment to smell and taste an almond cappuccino, seeing the moon ball (as my granddaughter would say), and listening to the sounds of the laughter around me. What is your ultimate “free” stuff? Please take time out today and share with me what this would be for you! May your day also be filled with beauty and the ability to savor the world around you! Until next time! Barb
